LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
Our village is just a 6-minute drive from the historic market town of Settle. We’re right in the heart of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, making this a perfect destination for hiking, cycling and many other outdoor pursuits.
Stainforth Foss is a 10-minute walk from the pub, particularly popular in early autumn, where you can see Atlantic salmon migrating up the river (if you’re lucky). 15 minutes in the other direction, crossing Stainforth Beck and the Stepping Stones, you’ll find Catrigg Force, a magical waterfall with a pool that’s perfect for wild swimming.
Stainforth is the perfect starting point for lots of walks, with the Pennine Bridleway running through the village. Follow the River Ribble down to Settle, explore the nearby Hoffman Kiln and Craven Lime Works or head a little further up the road to Horton in Ribblesdale and Pen-y-gent, our local Peak, and the Ribblehead Viaduct.
